Flight Centre UK, one of the world’s largest independent travel agencies, has appointed Joe Beevis as General Manager. Upon assuming his role, he will take over from Lucy Clifton who will transition into a senior role in Flight Centre Travel Group’s Global Learning & Development Team.
Beevis will be integral to the planning of Flight Centre UK’s growth strategy which aims to increase the brand’s ‘bricks and mortar’ presence nationally, grow sales in its specialist luxury, round-the-world and groups teams, and expand Flight Centre’s dedicated Business Travel division.
Wielding a 15-year career with Flight Centre, Beevis joined as a retail consultant in a central London store before progressing to managerial roles through Flight Centre’s managerial Fast Track Scheme. He has worked across Leisure, Corporate, and Supply, with roles in Flight Centre Business Travel as General Manager pre-pandemic, the Round The World team, Retail Specialist Divisions and most recently, Corporate Land Supply, of which he was General Manager.
On his promotion, Beevis says: “What an honour to be selected to take over and build on all of Lucy’s and her team’s hard work over the last few years. The importance of travel agents is becoming more and more apparent to travellers. As we further Lucy’s vision for the resurgence of the high street travel agency and growth of our Business Travel and specialist teams, I’m excited to take the lead on expanding the business.”
Clifton says: “There couldn’t be a better person for the role than Joe. I have every faith in his ability to keep growing Flight Centre UK and I’m looking forward to my new role, where I’ll focus on the professional development and progression of our experts.”
